A US driver's license is NOT valid ID at most UK venues. Carry your passport (or a passport card) — a photo on your phone won't cut it.
Most clubs stop letting people in around 1–2am even though they're open till 4–6am. Pre-drinks at 9pm, arrive by midnight at the latest.
Contactless cards (or Apple/Google Pay) work everywhere. Tipping isn't expected at bars — round up or leave a coin if you want, that's it.
London's Night Tube runs Fri/Sat on the Victoria, Central, Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines. Night buses run everywhere else. Uber is reliable but surge-priced after 2am.
You can do an entire night out — entry, drinks, taxi home — on contactless. The only exception is some smaller venues with a cash-only cloakroom (£1–£2).
