Local tip

The Night Tube runs on several lines on Friday and Saturday, and night buses cover the rest. Both are far cheaper than a late cab.

Licensed UK venues must give you free tap water, and nearly all bars are card-only now, so you rarely need cash.

Keep the night affordable

  • Early-bird tickets are often half the price you pay on the door for the same night.
  • Midweek and Sunday events are cheaper and far less crowded than Friday and Saturday.
  • Free entry gigs happen every week — plenty of them are excellent.
  • Sharing a taxi three or four ways usually beats a solo cab by a wide margin.
